Guinevere

from The Wild by Fae Wiedenhoeft

about

When I was 20, my sister Patty took me on a road trip to Washington DC. I was and have always been a huge fan of the Kennedy Era. I went to Arlington National Cemetery and stood above the grave of JFK and Jackie Onassis. I remember wondering how the world would be if Jack had never been shot.

Years later, I went to Dallas and stood at the corner of Houston and Elm, the place where JFK was shot. I remember feeling like there was more than just lives lost at that corner. It was almost like a natural disaster had happened, a tower fell... the collapsing of a dream ...

and I believe there were only 3 shots.
