You are fire and I am sea you burn your flowers and I long to be free you are a star that I wish upon You hold the night and I greet the dawn You are the wind and I am the rain You sometimes act crazy and while calm, sometimes I act the same You are a song that I long to sing You dance in the trees and I bring you the spring You are the raven and I am the steed You guard high temples while I tend the lands and streams You chase the moon while I tend the sun We are not the same, but our love, our stories are one. are one are one are one

Looking out at the ageless night I see the stars, the lights, the velvet blue I know it’s only been two days but I can’t help thinking of you The city never seems to sleep At least I know I’m not alone And while my journey’s just begun I think of you, our love, our happy home On the other side of the world you sleep alone to tonight On the other side of the world I sing to you On the other side of the world I hold you close in my heart it’s true, you see, you're always with me By the sea where the pretty people play Beautiful eyes, this city’s vibe is jet set new And the history seeps into the voids A wild life force, a passion burning through And on these ancient cobbles a deja voo The ruins of Rome, a sultan, a cup of tea I see your face in old statues I hear your voice in this city’s heartbeat On the other side of the world I dream alone tonight On the other side of the world I sing to you On the other side of the world I hold you close in my heart it’s true, you see, you're always with me Bridge: Turn up the love, turn up everything! And from this old rooftop hear me singing out to you I know I’ll be home when that bright moon is full but I can’t wait that long to tell you just how I love you! Chorus you’re always with me babe, I’m with you.

Adam Shea 04:25
Runaway with me through tall trees, where the raven flies Tell me stories, little daydreams How my smile reflects in your eyes Many years our hearts have entwined we’ve sailed the seas and stars Valentines, music, silly rhymes I seem to end where you start - Adam Shea Catch a comet with me as the setting sun kisses the dancing tides Slip a star into the sky the one we wished upon by the riverside You danced with me in the city park and you danced with me by the sea You pull me close every chance you have Little poems fall from you to me - Adam Shea Runaway with me from Midwestern plains to the mountainside Let’s sail across the sea walk where Wilde walked, where the fairies hide Ten years ago we me that summer’s day in a little Gypsy Cafe A pulse of light, a shining star, you have my heart I love you more each passing day - Adam Shea

Joey 03:31
Intense eyes, you wear them well your sadness hangs softly on your back lost in the bottom of your glass looking up to the loves you left too fast will someone drop you a line or let down their golden hair will the stars kindly fall from the sky and bring you hope you can share you are waiting and praying and dreaming and draining all light from the dark that you know you are waiting and praying and dreaming and drinking another glass, ‘nother love, ‘nother show -- let go you breath on the wings of your cigarette drift like fingers through the room beyond the bottles, the laughter, the boys to the one with a smile like sweet perfume and you’ll have your one night stand and the morning light will leave you cold and tomorrow you’ll sit here again the same glass, the same home you are waiting and praying and dreaming and draining all light from the dark that you know you are waiting and praying and dreaming and drinking another glass, ‘nother love, ‘nother show -- let go you are waiting and praying and dreaming and draining all light from the dark that you know you are waiting and praying and dreaming and drinking another glass, ‘nother love, ‘nother show -- let go

Ophelia 05:28
Floating downstream past winter’s dream and rosemary and summer’s flower fantasies I believe. I believe. Dweller in a tree Sing for me a memory Of kisses soft, my heart’s reverie And I believe. I believe Chorus: “I believe the stars are fire the sun doth move and truth’s a liar But I never doubt your love” I believe this mossy stream will float me back to days of dream Pray you, love, remember me Willow dancing free Weaving tides and flaps of wings Valentines tied with endings And I believe. I believe Chorus remember me.... “”influenced From Hamlet

The morning light tells me to let go Our silly storms, our words, our waves and undertow And in my mind your face floods back to me My heart so heavy yet I believe in Breaking Free, breaking free, breaking free To where we used to be. No childish lies Just you and me, breaking free, lovingly I see your eyes. We’ll fight the tide. It’s not goodbye. .. it’s not goodbye We always hurt the ones we love the most Our silly games, our faults, the echoes of our ghosts And yet for years we sailed the seas so free Our love a beacon, our very gravity Breaking Free, breaking free, breaking free To where we used to be. No childish lies Just you and me, breaking free, lovingly I see your eyes. We’ll fight the tide. It’s not goodbye. bridge: Our war cry scream. Our stupid fight of who was wrong or right A vivid dream, our bodies wrapped within the velvet night And I believe this love will bring us to the break of day If you can see and let our words and wars just fall away then we’re.. Breaking Free, breaking free, breaking free To where we used to be. No childish lies, Just you and me, breaking free, lovingly I see your eyes. We’ll fight the tide. It’s not goodbye. It’s not goodbye.....

Sandy 04:37
Which will be my best reward? The sounds in my mind like the flutter of wings The big dogs who came to the door as I stared seeing tobacco stained rings And I walked down the muggy street past the shoe shine and the old hotel The stars like the eyes of Ravens the rumble of the distant train and a Wurlitzer played an old familiar waltz for me when I was Sandy The North star sprinkled the city in gold Where did all that time go? and it’s true I often thought of leaving ride the horizon’s edge to the end of the world But back again I’d go to the streets I’ve always known and at home, dip my hair in ink and write the dreams I’d tell no one And I’d hear the slapping of waves from some distant sea some memory calling out to me when I was Sandy And how could I forget that face that face that smiles in the mirror The seasons of mistakes and mellow fruitfulness Of howling at the stars and falling to the floor And I walked down that street again the shoe shine’s gone and hotel too and the stars still shine like the ravens’ eyes and I walk down those old train tracks, looking back I’m humbled by the innocence that still breaths free in me because of Sandy

Smolder 04:21
I met a friend of yours last night In the bar that was your second home She told me you up left, packed up Headed somewhere you’ve never know Then my heart shook, why now? It’s been so long since I’d thought of you She says I was the one that you loved The one who was so tried and true And the thing is, I would have dropped my silly world if you’d let me know And you’d be here and we’d be fine instead of burning up, we’d smolder slow Your lips were kissing me, moving fast, but you never said a thing You never told me your dreams, never knew you bought that ring You’d make my heart race, I’d come undone my body ached to pull you near And then you’d run fast, all stop never knowing what you feared And the thing is, I would have dropped my silly world if you’d let me know And you’d be here and we’d be fine instead of burning up, we’d smolder slow I met a friend of your last night in the bar that was your second home She told me you up left, packed up headed somewhere you’ve never known Then my heart stopped. Why now? Why’d you let me go? And if I called you, would things change? Or are you heading me for another low? And the thing is, I’d dropped my silly world if you let me know And you’d be here and we’d be fine instead of burning up, we’d smolder slow

Journey 03:21
Two tens and barely two I set my sails and travelled so far My heart set on a distant star I heard the sirens beckoning yet I kept my course to find a love the one I knew when I was 17 And in his eyes of pale ocean blue the waves would roll away the truth He’d paint the skies alive with sailors plight and he’d pull me close in the veil of a starry night Two tens and five we shined. The sun of love burned strong and alive The brightest kind that made me blind. We floated round from sea to sea until I found he had much more than me. Little smiles on the winds mocking endlessly And the storms would rage we nearly broke in two And he’d smile... I’d get lost in oceans blue But the winds would blow and I was left alone. And all was lost. Time to build another home. Three 10s and back on land To a place where the waters end A wolf, a hawk and a scorpio friend The desert path of Cherokee I danced the dusty roads to find a harmony but the sirens call begged me to the sea And with a wave a shook a song from my hair drops of dreams and a silent prayer reflected scenes of shipwrecks, love, a broken heart And the journey moves on, and the traveller moves on with an ending births a brand new start..... brand new start

Brave new world, am I good enough? Am I strong enough to see through the smoke and the flames? Shadows fall, I’m running towards the light I’m running fast to find something I can hold true Get beyond this line in life the noise, the noise, the toys, the noise... the city falls break the screen, a quiet scream the twits and tweeks, is anyone saying anything at all We’re just spinning our wheels in these tired circles and we’re getting nowhere at all when i know we’re all just shining stars waiting to find some great great high or a moment to fall Brave new world, am I good enough? Am I strong enough to see through the smoke and the flames? Shadows fall, I’m running towards the light I’m running fast to find something I can hold true The words of Ginsberg and Kerouac hit the road there’s no turning back today From these fall walls and patterns, I’ve got to break free and risking it all is no tragedy Clip the frames in this unending movie of something I used to be Tell my friends I’ll be gone for awhile I’m off to find the pieces of a dream that I once believed Brave new world, am you good enough? Am you strong enough to hold on to dreamers like me? Shadows fall, I’m running towards the light I’m running fast to find somewhere I can be free To find somewhere I can be free Are you strong enough to hold on to dreamers like me I am just holding on to somewhere I can be free Are you strong enough to hold on to dreamers like me

about

Ars longa, vita brevis. Art is long, life is short.
What is the RPM Challenge? Write 10 new songs or 35 minutes of music, record it yourself, & make the CD artwork in the month of February, the shortest month of the year!
2013 marks my 6th year doing this epic challenge.
Within 27 days, this music was written & recorded. What a month!
February was tangled with the old. Pictures of the past floated near the surface. The style is unlike my previous albums. I tried my hand at lead playing and wrote in big leaps vocally. I believe that my students’ love for pop music has augmented my writing. Like sea glass, we are shaped and sculpted by our surroundings. Not every egg in this nest is golden, but it is a record in time. Thanks for listening
